White settlers arrived in New Zealand in the seventeenth century, bringing with them their customs, their language, their food, their genetic heritage and their diseases.They settled among Maori natives who were already there.

Their customs, their living conditions, their relationships and communications systems, politics and finally the tourism they generate.
